Description
All of our new Tailored Learning courses are matched to one of seven 'purposes' which have been designed by the Department for Education to recognise the wider benefits of learning. Would you like to learn how to use a sewing machine, or would you like to learn how to hand sew? This course will help you to become an active member of your local community.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you want to learn how to sew by hand or by sewing machine. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities, individual work, group work and homework. You will be given group tasks and can work on your own projects.
Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
Depending on what sewing you do each week you may need to bring different items, your tutor will inform you what that might be. You may want to bring a notebook to make notes.
Are there any other costs?
The materials are provided free of charge.
Additional Information
At the end of the course you will have a visit from an Advice, Information and Guidance worker who could give you some information about what you would like to do next.
